How do I activate my eSIM?

Can I use a local SIM with TravelGator eSIM?

Yes you may, if your phone has a Dual SIM function.

Can I add credit / top up to my eSIM?

Yes you may. You are able to purchase top ups for any country and reuse your TravelGator eSIM. That is the beauty of it!

How do I activate the eSIM?

  1. Ensure that your device is compatible with eSIM technology. Most newer smartphones, including iPhones and some Android devices, support eSIM.
  2. Check if your carrier supports eSIM. Not all carriers offer eSIM services, so it's best to check with your carrier beforehand.
  3. Install the carrier's app or profile. To activate an eSIM, you'll need to install the carrier's app or profile on your device. This is typically done through the App Store on an iPhone or the Google Play Store on an Android device.
  4. Scan the QR code. The carrier will provide you with a QR code that you'll need to scan using your device's camera. The code will activate the eSIM on your device.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions. After scanning the QR code, you'll be guided through the activation process, which typically involves entering your personal information, such as your name, phone number, and billing information.
  6. Restart your device. Once the activation process is complete, restart your device to ensure that the eSIM is properly activated and working.

How long is the eSIM active?

If unactivated, the eSIM has an expiry of one year from the date of purchase.

If activated and the data plan period has ended, the eSIM has an expiry of one year from end date.

Can I use hotspot with TravelGator eSIM?



Can i have multiple data plans at the same time?

Yes of course! They can be all added into the same eSIM to be used in different countries!

Can I open tethering or mobile hotspots to share my data?

Yes you may for most devices, but do note some devices don't enable sharing.

Do I need to configure the data settings?

Yes, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Select the eSIM plan
  2. Make sure Data Roaming is turned on, connected to correct Telco operators 

Ensure Mobile Data Network > APN (Access Point Names) is set to the corresponding APN found in your email

I used a data plan I purchased for my trip. Can I use a different zone next time with the same eSIM?

Yes you may. You are able to purchase top ups for any country and reuse your TravelGator eSIM. That is the beauty of it!
